Ema had long talked of starting another Songwriter Club to help support and grow our little Auckland Music Scene.
Years ago Ema hosted the Tiger Songwriter Sessions @EmpireTavern and the regular group that met and played there have gone on to form some lovely music relationships and long-lasting friendships.
There is always much needed space for musicians to have the opportunity to mix and mingle, share their songs, get inspired, challenged and be encouraged by a supportive community in a comfortable environment.
What we love is that music can bring together such a wide range of people from a rainbow of backgrounds. Old, young, regular or drop in...professional recording artists to those who are just gaining the confidence to get started. Songwriter Club is a great place to explore song writing, performance and network.
So here we are in 2021 and we have formed a Songwriter Club.
We meet every Wednesday at 7.30pm
@Win-Win Bar, 212 Ponsonby Rd
Hosted by Ema Barton (occasionally other fab musos).
Ema gets some pizza for us to share, and the bar is generally a relaxed place to hang out.
This is a space to commune, to talk, learn, collaborate, and get writing!
MONTHLY WRITING CHALLENGE:
We have a monthly writing challenge, where we've got all month to work on something and perform it at Songwriter Club by the first week of the next month or upload a video to our Facebook group or Website Group.
